I have a feeling that you may be right, Alex.

Seems to me that if someone is looking to buy, they should start the process now–with prices already pretty low, as well as interest rates.

I think people looking forward to sharp falls in house prices are going to be disappointed. Not because I have a rose-tinted view of the economy (it’s grim)but because house prices have already fallen sharply in real terms.

They may well fall further in both absolute terms and real terms but the absolute term fall will probably be quite small because of low interest rates and demand for housing driven by population growth and change.
