Kite Surfing in Newport Beach
Off the Newport Beach coastline, you can often see people wet-suited up, braving the cold ocean waves to kite surf. The above picture captures a kite surfer setting up on the Balboa Beach on the Newport Peninsula.
According to SandyDan.com, “it is possible to kitesurf [in Newport Beach] although the winds tend to be weaker than at Huntington. Best is just north of 6th street but kiters are also found near the Santa Ana river. There are restrictions so check with a lifeguard first.”
