Laguna Beach is located southeast of Newport Beach and Corona del Mar, and is another seaside city in the Orange County area. Like Newport Beach, Laguna is known for its great beaches and temperate climate, but its most well-known for being a beachside artist community.

“The location became part of the United States following the Mexican-American War. Laguna Beach was settled in the 1870s, officially founded in 1887 and incorporated as the City of Laguna Beach in 1927. The city has remained relatively isolated from urban encroachment by its surrounding hills, limited highway access and a dedicated greenbelt. 5.88 miles of Laguna Beach coastline is protected by a State Marine Reserve and an additional 1.21 miles of Laguna coastline is a State Conservation Area.”[1]

Popular events in Laguna Beach include the Pageant of the Masters, Festival of Arts, Sawdust Festival and Plein Air Painting.
