“The Voyage of Traveler” lecture

The Newport Harbor Nautical Museum will be hosting the last of three lectures in the Waterman Lecture Series on this Thursday, February 10th at 7pm.

This lecture series is entitled: The Voyage of Traveler: A Three-Year Circumnavigation, and is presented by Michael Lawler, the inspiration for this series.  He recently completed a three-year circumnavigation on his own sailboat, Traveler, a North Wind 47.  Born in Newport Beach, he has been racing sailboats since he was 8.  He was on the USC Sailing Team and raced in the ’03, ’05 and ’07 Transpacs and over a dozen Newport To Ensenada Races.  He holds a 100-Ton USCG Captain’s License.

This third part is about Lawler’s third year of travel through the western Mediterranean: Morocco, crossing the Atlantic, the Caribbean, Panama Canal, the west coast of central America, and Mexico.

Admission is free for members of the museum, $10 for non-members and $5 for students with valid student ID. You can call the museum at (949) 675-8915 or e-mail at nhnm@nhnm.org to make reservations.
