The Newport Harbor in Newport Beach is the largest recreational boat harbor on the West Coast. It’s a large semi-man-made harbor, made by dredging the Newport Bay in the early 1900s. There are several artificially formed islands within the harbor, made when the bay was dredged, and now covered with private residences.
This view of the harbor and China Cove Beach was taken from the Channel Reef community building (if you’re looking for a lease, there will be an upcoming condo for rent in the next couple of months).
Take a Newport Harbor cruise in a Duffy boat for a fun evening; the city of Newport Beach put out the Complete Cruising Guide to Newport Harbor for some local boating information.
