The Newport Beach (and Corona del Mar) Christmas Boat Parade begins tonight, Wednesday December 16th, 2009 at 6:30 pm. It will run through Sunday night, December 20th. The boat parade has been in existence for 101 years and according to organizers, it is older than the Thanksgiving Macy’s Day parade!
Be a part of this magical holiday tradition and come watch the parade go by one of the many public-viewing spots along the Newport Harbor. Traffic and parking can be difficult during these next 5 nights so try to arrive early.
The attached map shows what time the boat parade passes by specific areas during its 14-mile route.

This year, I will be attending a few boat parade viewing parties at friend’s homes instead of taking my boat out into the middle of the harbor. It must be that I’m getting older but I just feel safer watching this spectacular parade from a distance!
Enjoy and Happy Holidays!
